Summary

This course helps you to develop a higher understanding of arboriculture and forestry, growing a mixture of technical and practical skills. Our qualifications give you the opportunity to learn about and build on the essentials of safe working with equipment and machinery, chainsaw use, planting and establishment of trees, soil and plant science, pests and diseases. You will be able to specialise further in either forestry or arboriculture, using our specialised campus facilities. This course carries the same amount of UCAS points as, and is equivalent to, studying three A Levels.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSE's at Grade 9-4 (A-C) to include English, maths and science. Alternatively a Level 2 Diploma at Merit/Distinction, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.

Progression

This course will prepare you for a range of jobs in the arboriculture and

forestry industries. Or, you may wish to move onto an Advanced Apprenticeship in

Trees and Timber, which allows you to combine work with further training. Or,

you can use this qualification to progress into Higher Education. You could go

on to study subjects such as:
