What You Will Study

From fitness training to exploring anatomy and physiology, our Sport Level 2 course is perfect for those keen to develop a good understanding of the sports and active leisure sector.

You will study a wide range exciting topics including practical sports and performance, sport performer in action, leading sports activities, the mind and sport performance, lifestyle and wellbeing, and sport injury.

Our Sport Level 2 course will also encourage you to build essential teamwork and communication skills through course activities, will help you to build relationships with others, and will teach you to manage your own learning and performance. You will leave the course with the knowledge and skills to progress on to further studies or employment, and to thrive in the world of sport and leadership.

We have made substantial investment in our facilities for sport, outdoor leadership, and uniformed services programmes to provide realistic and state-of-the-art facilities to enhance your learning and training. Our recent £1.7m refurbishment of our Sports Centre includes a fitness studio, sports laboratory, functional fitness room, cardio room, resistance machine room and large café and study area. In addition, we also have a full-size 3G pitch, grass pitches and training areas and a Tennis Centre with eight indoor courts and four outdoor clay courts.

Entry Requirements

You will need to achieve four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English language and maths. You will also need to complete a taster day.

How You Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed through a variety of methods including some externally assessed core units and internally assessed mandatory and optional units. Assessment methods could include assignments, research projects, presentations, and group discussions.

Course Progression

On completion of your course, you could progress to a Level 3 sport course at Easton College, and following further study you could consider studying a BSc (Hons) Sport, Health and Exercise Science degree.

Where Your Course Can Take You

You could consider a career working as a personal trainer, sport nutritionist, sport physiotherapist, physical education teacher or sports coach to name a few.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over please contact the Advice Shop.

There will be costs for equipment, uniform and trips. These include:
Approximately £100-120 for uniform, £20 course materials, £100 contribution for enrichment activities.
