What You Will Study
This course aims to provide the knowledge and skills to effectively handle, apply, and store pesticides using mounted/trailer granular applicators. Pesticides are widely used in agriculture and horticulture, but they can be potentially harmful substances, so a thorough appreciation of safe working practices is vital.
This is a hands-on course that includes both theory and practical elements which supply sufficient training to comply with pesticide regulations.
This course is delivered over one day with an additional assessment time, organised by the awarding body NPTC.
Entry Requirements
You need to have completed the NPTC 021649 Award in the Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (formally known as PA1) qualification to attend this course and be able to proficiently operate and drive the vehicle(s) used during training.
How You Will Be Assessed
This course is assessed through a certificate of competence assessment by NPTC assessor after the course. The assessment can be carried out at the college or at the place of work and booked directly with NPTC. You will be assessed by using a combination of practical assessment and theory-based questioning. Please let us know at the time of booking if you require access arrangements. Assessment is not carried out on the same day as your training, this will be arranged with NPTC on a separate date when your training has been completed.
