Message from the Principal: "vital to focus on your course"
As we get used to remote teaching and learning once again, I want to remind you of how important it is to engage as fully as you can with your course. The things that you learn now will put you in the very best position to move on to your next step whether that’s further study at college or university, an apprenticeship or beginning a great career.
I’m really sorry if you feel worried at the moment, whether that’s because of the national lockdown or because of changes to exams. But keeping a proper focus on your course and your learning, and staying in touch with teachers and fellow students will put you in the best place to move on to your next destination. Keep watching your college email and Blackboard and ensure that you’re ready to engage with your college sessions. Above all, look after yourselves and make sure that you explore all the support that’s available online.
Stay safe, observe the lockdown rules, keep studying and together we’ll reach better days soon.

January exams and assessments
A message from the Principal:
I know that some of you will have been revising and preparing for your exam or controlled assessment which is due to take place this month and you might be confused by some of the national messages about whether or not these will go ahead.
We have taken the decision this morning (Tuesday 5 January) to provide clarity for you in these uncertain times, that exams and controlled assessments will not go ahead at City College Norwich, Easton College or Paston College during the national lockdown.
I realise that this is very short notice for some of you however, I don’t think it is fair to ask you to come to college to sit these exams whilst a variant of the virus, which is up to 70% more transmissible is prevalent. The fact that many of you have some distance to travel on public transport and would then sit in a room with many of your peers is too much of a risk to take.
We will ensure that you are not disadvantaged by this decision and I will be in touch as soon as we have more information about how exams will be awarded this year. This decision has been taken with your best interests at heart and whilst it might be disappointing for some of you, others no doubt will be relieved.

Online learning until February
Following the announcement on 4th January of a National Lockdown, for the vast majority of students (further education, higher education and apprentices) all learning will be online until Monday 22nd February 2021 (after February Half Term).
Inclusive Learning
Our Inclusive Learning tutors have been contacting students, and their parents/carers, to outline plans for students’ continued learning. In addition, we will be contacting all parents/carers of students in Inclusive Learning with an email giving key information to assist you during this period of remote learning.
Tutors will be the primary point of contact for students, parents, and carers, if you have any questions about any aspect of their learning at this time.
SEND Support
Our course tutors throughout the college are making sure that students who receive support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities will continue to get the support they need whilst learning remotely.
